What is Sentry Mode?
Sentry Mode uses the vehicle's cameras to monitor for any suspicious activity while the car is parked. In this mode, the car uses its array of cameras to monitor its surroundings. If someone approaches the car, and the car does not sense a phone key, the car will store a recording of its video cameras and it will alert via the touchscreen that people are being recorded.
If the car detects it is being tampered with, it will automatically grab a recording of its surroundings. Additionally, the car will store a recording automatically any time the horn is honked, or if an accident is detected. In case of an incident, DO NOT TAMPER with the Tesla USB drive.
When parking in public locations, please make sure to leave "Sentry" turned on. Our cars will automatically turn "Sentry" mode back on if they detect they are parked and Sentry Mode has been turned off.
If parking in an unsafe area, please consider folding the rear seats upon parking, to inform the public of the empty trunk to limit the chance of a break-in. Please do not leave any valuables in plain sight.
